It is our first day looking after the chickens. After break we had to wait for Mr O Donnell to show us what to do. When he came out we got geared up and then he told us what to do. In the morning we have to let the hens out and make sure they are ok. At break we have to check for eggs, clean out the hen house and check their water and food. In the evening we have to put them in their hen house for night.
We had three eggs and one broken egg. We cleaned out their henhouse and checked their water and food. Unfortunately Bon-bon was not very well because she was not making any noise but other than that everything was good and fine.
We were checking on the hens and Bon Bon was still not well. At break Davy cleaned the henhouse so we didn’t have to clean it. Their water was fine and all was good and well except Bon Bon.
We had a look at Bon Bon and she still wasn’t making any noise. Anyway we cleaned out the henhouse and checked the feed. Their water had a caterpillar in it so I cleaned it out. Afterwards we got three more eggs from the chickens.
It is our last day doing chickens. We had a great week. It was really fun minding the chickens. Anyway on Friday evening it took ages for us to get the chickens in. Bon Bon is still not well but hopefully she will get better.

**On Saturday morning, Davy and myself came into school to check on Bon Bon and she was dead. It was very sad news. Our local vet, Frances Harvey had done a great job to keep her unfortunately Bon Bon died. We told the pupils on Monday. Bon Bon is now buried in the school garden. -Mr. O’Donnell
