Slane N.S. 1-11 vs St. Anne’s N.S. 0-04
St. Patrick’s N.S. performed very well in their first boys’ Cumann na mBunscol game of the year in Navan this week. St. Anne’s, aided by a breeze in the first half, made some threatening attacks but Slane got a goal through Altay Guneyer and some points to lead 1-04 to 0-03 at the break.
Slane applied more pressure in the second half and made better choices when shooting, with Senan Duffy and Alex Devin both scoring three points. Daniel O’Neill, Ben McDonagh and Josh Smith were very alert at the back throughout. Both Tadhg Martyn and Matthew Kealy in the middle of the pitch were marking very good footballers from St. Anne’s and stuck to their jobs throughout the game.
Slane now have two games next week before the Easter break.
