When myself, Kevin Gallagher, Ruby Fitzsimons and Ciall Flynn were looking after the hens we got loads of eggs. We got 18 on Monday, 8 on Tuesday, 5 on Wednesday, 4 on Thursday, and 6 on Friday. We noticed that the grey hen was very broody. It wouldn’t lay eggs. It would just sit on the laid ones so we couldn’t get them. We got them eventually. There was usually a lot of poo in the hen house but we managed to pick it up ok. The grey hen would also never go in to the hen house like the other hens were so we had to walk behind it then it went in eventually. There were also little birds and sometimes crows getting in at the hen feed but the hens scared them. We all agreed that Henrietta was the most well behaved. It was kind of a simple job but difficult at the same time. It was really fun looking after the hens and we would all love to do it again.
