On the 20th of November, Julianne, Jason and I were on the hens. It was the first day and we were very excited about getting to mind the hens. At 10.30am, Mr. O’Donnell came in and told us what to do and when. He told us to let the hens out in the morning and just before the break, we would put our gear on like gloves, boots, and a coat. Then we would clean the hen house by getting all of the horrible poop out of the house. After that, we would put all of the poop in the composter. Then we would collect all the eggs. After that, we would take off our gear and go back to class to wash the eggs. At the end of the day, Jason would give the eggs out to the people who paid. I had a great time.

Davy was also busy this week cutting back the wildflower meadow at the front of the school. The seeds will now lie on the ground and start to germinate in spring. We hope to have another colourful show of native Irish wildflowers in 2018.
