The Slane National School Parent Association 5K run took place Slane Castle last weekend. There were 400 runners, joggers and walkers in total, between children and adults, and it is fair to say that the course was a tough test. 10 am was the best time for it to start at because it got very warm later in the day. Fortunately, there were great buns, sandwiches, bananas and drinks at the end to feed all who took part. Thank you to Mr. O’Connor for training the pupils on the school pitch before school in the mornings to get ready for the run.
Thank you to also to the Parent Association committee who organised the whole event, and on raising 7,600 euro for the school.
