On Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th December, the school held its annual concerts in St. Patrick’s church. The Junior Infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes performed on the Monday with the Senior Infants, 2nd, 4th and 6th classes on the Tuesday night. The 6th class students in St. Patrick’s National School, Slane, Co.Meath have been working hard over the past few weeks in preparation for recording their Christmas charity single. They chose to record a cover version of the 1984 Band Aid classic “Do They Know Its Christmas”, which is an excellent choice for this cause. On Friday the 30th of November, the annual cake sale took place in the school hall. There was a huge array of cakes, biscuits and buns for pupils, parents and locals to enjoy. The day began in a very civilized manner with tea and coffee for adults but it was all downhill after that with the Parent Association volunteers rushed off their feet serving the pupils in all classes throughout the day.
