Pupils in Fourth and Fifth Classes were treated to a talk from Michael Moylan from Co. Kilkenny on the above topics as part of the Francis Ledwidge celebrations. It was very informative and the pupils got to dress up in all the clothing of the time, which made it very interactive! Fifth class were very busy making St. Brigid’s crosses in school this week. February the 1st is St. Brigid’s Day which heralds the beginning of spring and the longer days and nights. St. Brigid made the cross for a chieftain on his deathbed to explain the Holy Trinity to him.
