School Activities

With the announcement of ICT funding from the Department of Education, we have purchased 19 new computers for our computer room. With a lot of time and effort by the teachers, in particular Mr. Flanagan, our school has a state-of-the-art facility in which the children can utilise and become familiar with I.C.T.

All of the computers are networked and have internet access through the Schools Broadband Network (SBN) which provides content filtering. The school has a comprehensive Acceptible Usage Policy which you can find on our policies page.

During the summer of 2009, seven more interactive whiteboards were installed. This means that we now have an interactive whiteboard in each teaching classroom. We are most fortunate to be in such a position and a big thank you to all who have contributed to the fund-raising activities in recent times.

As of May 2011, the school is now recognised as a 'Digital School'. The Digital Schools award recognises schools that utilise information & communication technology as much and as best as possible. Schools receiving the award must pass a number of criteria including having an updated website, a dedicated computer room and an e-learning plan. The award was a long time coming but all the hard work and drive finally paid off and we got to add another achievement to our list.
