About Our School
About St. Patrick's National School.
St. Patrick's National School, Slane is a Roman Catholic School, established in connection with the Minister for Education. We aim at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person of the pupil: intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and with other people. The school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Catholic school provides Religious education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and promotes the formation of the pupils in the Catholic Faith.
You the parents are the primary educators of your children. By the time your child arrives at school you have already guided their development in many skills and attitudes which will contribute significantly to their future progress. From now on the school and home form a partnership in educating your child. Therefore we in St. Patrick's are conscious of the importance of developing good frequent communication with parents and of fostering parental interest and support in the school activities.
We have many formal and informal opportunities for parents to forge links with the school as we work together to lay firm foundations for your child's spiritual, social, academic and physical development. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
