Fourth class pupils walked up to Stanley Hill behind our school last week. The trip came after the class had read Francis Ledwidge’s poem “Stanley Hill” about his childhood memories of the hill, while fighting during World War I. We looked at digital maps of Stanley Hill today and how it has changed from the past. Some of our pupils had a treat with Ms. Coyle by getting the chance to bake Easter chocolate nests with chocolate eggs inside. This was as a result of all their hard work this term improving their English. Mr. O’Donnell was lucky to be chosen to taste them to make sure they were safe to eat!
