4th class continued their study of air quality this week by finding new places in the school grounds where we could plant trees. There were three places identified. Two in the car park and one beside their classroom. Trees need 1 metre distance from each other when they are young. The pupils are now going to write to the Community Centre committee to see what plans are in place for more trees or hedges in the new car park.

The title winning Slane GFC men’s squad visited the school after their county final win against Moynalty recently. They spoke to the pupils and staff at a special assembly. Pupils were all in blue and white for the day. Best of all was a kickabout on the pitch between pupils and players afterwards. Congratulations to the team!

Both our boys’ and girls’ gaelic football teams have been training and playing already in the 2023-2024 school year. Games for both teams have taken place in Division 2 of Meath Cumann na mBunscol leagues. Many thanks to Ms. Gerrard, Mr. Dineen, Mrs. Goulding, Mr. O’Connor and Mr. Ó Braonáin who have been coaching the teams.
