Pupils in 4th class are taking part in a study of nitrogen dioxide levels at the front of our school, as part of a global study on air quality.
Over 200 hundred Irish schools are participating in the project, which is sponsored by NASA.
Two tubes will collect the gas levels in October and give the school a reading of levels of the gas, which is emitted by vehicles. The tubes are currently being kept in the staffroom fridge. We hope that the study will lead to some changes in traffic behaviour in Slane.
