In the month of November we have been exploring the theme of electricity in Science.
We worked in small groups to create a working light circuit. We used a bulb, two wires and a battery for this.
We then added various objects to the circuit such as a paper clip, a crayon and a thumbtack.
We found out that materials that electricity can flow through, e.g. a paperclip, are called conductors and those that electricity does not flow through, e.g. a crayon, are called insulators.
The following week we added a switch to the circuit and more wires. We were then able to turn our light circuit on and off.
These experiments laid the foundations for our lighthouse project we later embarked on.
