St. Patrick’s National School boys’ GAA team took part in a very successfully run GAA blitz in Simonstown GAA club last week. The format was a nine a side competition with two groups of five teams. The team performed very well with wins against Bohermeen N.S., Mercy Primary School, Wilkinstown N.S. and St. Stephen’s N.S., Johnstown, which put them through to a final against Boyerstown N.S.
The final was a great spectacle with each team trading goals in the first half and Boyerstown leading by two points at half time. Slane levelled the match with four minutes to go before Boyerstown scored the crucial winning point. It was a great match, with a high level of skill and great sportsmanship shown.
Many thanks to all the participating teams, to organiser Padraig Farrell and to the referees on the day.
