Many thanks to Slane Wanderers who organised soccer coaching for pupils from junior infants to first class over the last few weeks. The children had a great time having fun and developing skills. Pupils were presented with their certificates at the final session today.

Congratulations to KS who was the lucky winner of the Parent’s Association raffle today in school. The jersey is framed and signed by all last year’s squad, including Jonathan Sexton. €815 was raised towards the Parent’s Association activities in the school. It was a busy day in St. Patrick’s National School on St. Brigid’s Day. Many children brought rushes to school to make St. Brigid’s crosses. It is believed that St. Brigid used rushes to make a cross to teach an Irish pagan chieftain about Christianity. St. Brigid’s crosses are hung above doors in houses and barns or stables to keep the people and livestock safe from harm. Pupils in 6th and 5th classes made their own crosses before going to…
