We were very fortunate with the weather for our sports day this year and it was an action packed day as usual.
Classes had some time in stations in the morning, with a range of activities including the parachute, Olympic Handball, dodge ball, football, outdoor play, tag rugby, a fitness station and basketball taking place.
Classes then came out to the pitch for their various races, supported on by their parents and other family members. After that, it was time for ice-cream cones from the ice-cream van!
The day was rounded off with the 6th class pupils playing the staff. It was a very competitive game but the staff came out as winners, extending their now thirteen year unbeaten streak. There is always next year, of course.
Many thanks to Mrs. Carey and the wellbeing committee on such a great job planning out the day. This is just one day in the wellbeing week, which includes other activities for all classes throughout the week.
Thanks also to all the staff and parent volunteers for co-ordinating their classes and helping out at stations. Finally, a big thank you to Dylan Carolan who did a great job of refereeing the 6th class v staff match, especially when his brother was playing for one team and his mother is a member of staff!
Some of the footage is below and we will add to it as more photos are collected.
