The graduation ceremony was held for our 6th class pupils just before the end of the school year.
They were a great class in the school and were great role models for younger pupils, co-ordinating yard games with younger pupils, coaching GAA at lunch times, delivering hot meals to classes, the list never ends. They were also a very kind class group. We will miss them hugely. The creativity of the class was on show, with the ceremony beginning with the class' own 30 minute film, which they had written, edited and produced. It was fantastic.
Also at the ceremony, there were some readings, prayers of the faithful, some words from Mr. O'Donnell and Mr. Flanagan, as well as a brilliant Powerpoint created by Mr. Flanagan, of the pupils from junior infants to 6th class.
Below you can read a poem for parents to their children. We wish the class group the very best in the next stage of their lives.
The Time Is Now
Yesterday, you held my hand,
With tiny fingers, soft and sure.
We counted clouds and chased the wind,
Your laughter bright, your heart so pure.
Today you stand, a little taller,
With dreams that stretch beyond the skies.
Your world expands with every step—
New questions asked, new whens and whys.
Tomorrow calls, time won’t standstill,
But know that as your life unfolds.
With teenage paths and teenage songs,
My pride in you forever holds.
So take the lessons of your youth,
The world awaits—you’re ready now.
The stories, smiles, the love, the truth,
Go forward brave, with lifted brow.
