Fourth class had their second outdoor learning lesson out in the school polytunnel planting acorns. The acorns were collected in late September locally. The pupils brought in empty milk cartons to plant their acorns in, instead of buying more plastic containers.
Compost and sand were mixed and used to fill the cartons before popping in the acorns. Afterwards, the pupils wrote a reflection on the lesson in class in their nature journals. We hope they will germinate in springtime.
