School Caretaker Position

St. Patrick's National School, Slane invites applications for the position of School Caretaker.

The position is for 22.5 hours per week (8am-12pm and 5.00pm-5.30pm each day) during school term.

Main Duties

• Opening and closing the school premises and ensuring the security of buildings and grounds.
• Carrying out routine inspections of the school premises and undertaking minor maintenance and repair work.
• Monitoring the condition of the school buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities and reporting any issues requiring specialist attention.
• Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general presentation of outdoor areas, including pathways and entrances.
• Monitoring heating, lighting, alarm systems, and other building services.
• Liaising with and supervising contractors carrying out works on the premises.
• Setting up rooms, halls, furniture, and equipment for school events and activities.
• Receiving deliveries and assisting with the movement and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Carrying out other duties appropriate to the role as may reasonably be assigned by the Principal or Board of Management.
