Christmas carol services, hosted by all pupils were held in St. Patrick's Church, Slane this week on Monday and Tuesday evening. Junior infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes performed on Monday and senior infants, 2nd, 4th and 6th classes performed on Tuesday evening.
The performances involved older pupils singing the carols while the infant classes recreated the nativity story of that first Christmas. Pupils from classes also played the accompanying music, including those on flute, drums, glockenspiel and accordion.
Many thanks to the pupils themselves, Mr. Gerry Kelly, who co-ordinated the performances on both nights, school staff for all the preparation in advance, the Parents' Association, who laid on tea and coffee afterwards and the parish and Fr. Richard Matthews for the use of the Church for the events.
