A team of fourth class pupils in St. Patrick's National School progressed to the All Ireland final of the Credit Union Quiz after winning the junior section of the Chapter final last week.

The final took part in The Lakeside Hotel in Virginia with ten teams in the junior section and ten teams in the senior section.

The standard of the quiz was very high with questions such as the country that the Atacama desert is located, the Native Indian tribe who doanted money to Ireland during The Famine and the only city to host the Olympic Games three times.

The St. Patrick's N.S. finished on 43 points out of a possible 60. Congratulations to the pupils, their families who drove them to the event, Ms. Gerrard for co-ordinating the team and to all the staff who organised quizzes in the first term in school.
