We had a great Grandparents' Day today in St. Patrick's National School as part of Catholic Schools' Week 2026.

Grandparents started arriving at 10.30am and never stopped coming, it seemed. The Parents' Association members did a wonderful job providing tea, coffee and baked goods for all the visitors, followed by tours of the school hosted by 6th class pupils. With the volume of visitors, we had to have two tour times, although it turned into five or six by the end of the event!

Family members, including grandparents had visited from as near as Slane, as far away as Europe and everywhere in between. A huge word of thanks to all our visitors, PA members for their work hosting refreshments, 6th class pupils for escorting visitors to rooms and to staff and pupils in each class for welcoming grandparents to their classes.
