One of our sixth class pupils, JG, participated in a Meath V Louth primary school gaelic football blitz in Darver, Co. Louth this week.
The initiative is organised by Cumann namBunscol, the primary school gaeilc games organisation in County Meath and Louth. JG had participated in a training session last week in advance of the event.
The day was organised into a blitz format with a number of teams from Meath and Louth. JG's team emerged as the blitz winners, topping off a great day. It was some measure of revenge after Louth had won the Leinster final!
Many thanks to all the volunteer teachers who organised the blitz and training session in advance, volunteer staff in Slane N.S., who give up their time to coach the children and to JG's family for driving him to the training and matches.
We hope to see JG and many of our other boys and girls from Slane N.S. in green and gold jerseys in the years to come.
