June Assembly 2025 & Green Flag Raising Ceremony

We had our June assembly on our final week in school for this year, hosted by junior infants, with some help from 4th class pupils. They announced the news, the star classes for line up on the yard (6th class, Mrs. Haigney & Mrs. Connor's 2nd class, Mr. Dineen's 1st & 2nd class) and Gaeilgeoirí na Míosa. We also said farewell to Ms. Kells, who has been a great teacher in our school. She finishes up with us at the end of this year.

Ms. Gerrard told assembly that school attendance had risen by 2% this year and had a small treat for every pupil. Five pupils were also recognised for full attendance this year, as were the Credit Union art competition winners. Junior infants also displayed some art that they had been working on and sang a song for the school.

Finally, our special guest, local Councillor and new Cathaoirleach of Meath County Council, Wayne Harding, helped our oldest (JR) and youngest (PF) pupils, supported by the green school committee to raise our newest An Taisce green flag for global citizenship and travel. This came after a lot of work from Mrs. Connor and the green team in the school. They organised a no vehicle idling campaign, traffic surveys, cycle training, bling your bike or scooter day and BOWOW, among other things.

Many thanks to junior infants, 4th class pupils, Ms. Murphy, Liane, Mr. Fagan, Ms. Gerrard and Davy for organising a great event.
