We had a very busy May assembly this week in the school hall, hosted by senior infants and helped by some king 5th class pupils.
First we sang Ámhrán na bhFiann.
Mr. O'Donnell then had some school news including:

He welcomed Cheryl, our new hot school meal operative with The Lunch Bag.

He also showed the pupils the plan for the new outdoor play structure on the senior yard. This is being made possible by fundraising from the Parent's Association.
Ms. Gerrard then spoke to the children about recent events involving pupils from our school.

Our school team quiz who qualified for the All Ireland finals in the RDS got a big round of applause

As did J and C, who represented Meath in an All Ireland soccer final in Kilkenny recently

CMcG also told the assembly about her day playing for Meath in the Cumann na mBunscol blitz matches against Louth recently. One of our SNAs, Niamh's daughter was also on her team!

R and C were also celebrated for competing in Leinster tennis finals recently, for Stackallen Tennis Club
Next up were May birthdays agus Gaeilgeoirí na Míosa do mí Bealtaine

Wellbeing Committee News

Our wellbeing committee had some really interesting news from their Bí Cineálta follow up survey. More pupils now know what an upstander is and how an upstander can help reduce bullying behaviour. They also announced that the Quiet Area on the yard is being extended to all pupils in senior classes at breaks every day.
The Green Team

The Green Team also updated us on the litter league, which is happening around the school. The school is currently litter free, which is a great success. We will also have a Green Day in June with litter picking with Slane Tidy Towns and planting activities.
