The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) is a statutory body in Ireland that advises the Minister for Education on the curriculum and assessment for early childhood education, primary schools, and post-primary schools. The have designed the new primary school curriculum, which is being implemented in schools throughout the country at the minute.

The Government has established a Convention on Education, which is like a big national conversation on education in Ireland. It will work across four weekend sessions through 2026. As a primary stakeholder, the NCCA will contribute curriculum expertise, in advising on school curricula and assessment procedures.

As part of the NCCA's involvement in the Convention, they are creating a short digital video on the roll out of the new curriculum for the Convention members. For this purpose, some of the NCCA team visited our school this week to speak to children in 2nd class, record them engaging in their lessons and speak to some staff about the roll out of the curriculum.
