We had a treat at assembly this month with the visit of the Slane Tidy Town committee members, Paul Ahearne, Eamonn McElduff, Tania Finegan Rueda and Sarah Gorman. They are celebrating 50 years looking after Slane village and had some great news to share with the school.
The Slane Tidy Town group won a bronze medal in the national Tidy Towns competition and were the winners of the tidiest village of their size in Meath for 2025 also. It was a great achievement and we were delighted to celebrate it with them.
Member and past pupil, Sarah Gorman, spoke to the pupils about working on the committee and also showed some photos of all the work the committee has been doing recently.
Our own green team also spoke to the classes about their work so far this year putting signs in every class and helping children to know where to put their waste. The Tidy Town committee members also gave pupils some advice on how they can keep their school clean also and hope that one day, some pupils will become Slane Tidy Town members.

Labhair an chóiste Gaelbhratach linn freisin maidir leis an cómhrá scoile. The wellbeing team was also introduced to the school for the 2025/2026 school year.

This all happened as well as the usual November birthdays agus Gaeilgeoirí na Míosa do mhí na Samhna.
