Ootdoor Learning & Risky Play Open Day

We had a great turnout at our outdoor learning and risky play open day this week in school. The weather was fantastic, which contributed to a great afternoon.

Children in junior infants, senior infants and first class were out exploring the play area, including in the mud pit, tree house, sand pit and climbing on walls!

Senior pupils from fourth and fifth classes had some stalls demonstrating how birds build nests, minibeasts, tadpoles in our pond, samples of elderflower cordial, how to plant trees in milk cartons, our school hens and the vegetables we have grown in our school garden and polytunnel.

Many thanks to all the parents, grandparents and other community members who visited on the day, staff for co-ordinating the event and pupils who were the stars of the show!
