4th classes were making sustainable Christmas decorations this year from natural materials. They used cut willow branches as discs to paint on and attached pebbles on the front of each. Finally, brown garden twine was used to hang the decorations up. They were very creative!

Pupils from 3rd to 5th class have been taking part in a lunch time gaelic football league for the last number of weeks. The purpose of the league is to have fun and to develop skills. The rules are different so points can also be earned for proper pick ups (boys), tackles and blocks as well as points and goals. Mr. Ó Braonáin and his 4th class were visited by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) recently to record a geography lesson being taught through Irish. Teaching subjects through Irish in English medium schools is called Content and Language Integrated Learning or CLIL. The NCCA would like more teachers see how this can be done. Both the pupils and Mr. Ó Braonáin passed the day with flying colours and we all look forward to the recording being published.
