The pupils from 5th class have been learning how to cycle safely. They have learned how to signal properly and perform emergency stops, and they were lucky enough to put all this knowledge to the test when they went cycling on the roads and in through some of the local estates. Many thanks to Cycling Ireland, the Department of Sport, Eurolink and Meath Local Sports Partnership for their sponsorship of the scheme, meaning that it only costs €13 per pupil for the programme. It ensures that pupils get proper bicycle training, giving them the confidence to cycle, which is a fantastic mode of transport and source of exercise.
