St. Patrick’s church and school were very busy this week with the two nights of carol services held. The pupils had been practising for the last six weeks leading up to the two evening performances.
The idea of the carol services is to bring the pupils back to the meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus. They performed wonderfully on both nights and were a credit to their parents, grandparents and other family members who turned up in huge numbers to see them. Mr. Kelly and the teachers did a wonderful job coordinating the nights, as did the Parent Association organising refreshments back at the school. Mr. Kelly was presented with a gift by the Parent Association for all his work and it was well deserved.
Thanks are also due to Fr. Richard Matthews for the use of the Church, caretaker Davy Hoey for all his work loading and emptying equipment, the parish community and Church choir, for facilitating our practices and Annette Fitzpatrick for her endless patience helping us with logistics over the past week.
